Bahamas BBC Wreck
In September of 2007, the BBC, with assistance from Stuart Cove’s, purchased and scuttled an old tugboat to study the colonization of artificial reefs for their series “Life.” A contest was held to name the boat, and the winners (a couple from Arizona) won a chance to dive on the newly-sunk wreck, which they dubbed “The Blue Plunder.” Around Stuart Cove’s, though, it’s just called “The BBC Wreck.”
As you can see, it’s pretty small, and 4.5 years after sinking, doesn’t have a whole lot living on it yet.

Here’s a video on YouTube with a slideshow and some video footage about the sinking. The first two or so minutes are the best part; after that, it’s basically just footage of BBC divers filming the wreck.

Thank you Kent! I’ve been shooting underwater for about three years. It’s actually what got me interested in topside photography! I’m currently using a Canon s95 in a housing with a couple of Sea & Sea strobes. Someday it’ll be the 7D!
Nice photo. I was actually the guy who was working for the BBC to find it and sink it. Didn’t feel small when we craned it in. :) The You tube video I mixed together from some stuff I took on my Fuji F100 – not that professional.
